The album features ten soundscapes, functioning as movies for the ears. These range from insectoid relentless beats, vicious and uneasy riffs, through lush environments, vast landscapes, to a lullaby seemingly played by an elephant.

Tomas Hiltz spans art rock, industrial, ambient, soundtracks and pure improvisation. Their music is multi-layered, full of hidden detail and surprise, underpinned by beats and pulses. Deep sound fields result, with tangled instruments that are often unidentifiable with their original source. Sounds are merged into one cohesive whole.

Tomas Hiltz is two people engaged in a long-running exploration of music, art and technology which they started way back in 1986. They are Richard Miles, guitar, stick and treatments, and David Tribe, bass, synths and programming. Richard and David have always aimed to push the boundaries of guitar and bass with technical and tonal exploration, using effects and devices to stretch and reshape the original sounds into new territories. Over time they have developed an interlinked set of equipment and play it real-time. No holds are barred as the music is allowed to grow, a combination of pre-preparedness and improvisation. It is delicate and ferocious and lop-sided and deeply solid.

All tracks were recorded live in Starfish Studios, Lewes, UK, with guitar and bass, effects and devices, synchronised loopers and electronic beats.

Would have been a shame to miss this one!
